SmarterWays' New Software Products

January 2006

SmarterWays has recently developed three new software products, which have now reached beta stage - i.e. they are operating with most of their functionality and are ready for user feedback. The first of these is SmartGuard, a facility to ensure that your domain name is kept up to date to avoid losing it to a predator. Because the URL is the unique identifier of your site for the whole of the world wide web and that address is held on the server of your Internet Service Provider (ISP), it is easy to forget that the domain and the URL are not identical and need to be maintained separately. SmartGuard will work to ensure that your site does not slip down the fatal crevasse on the net: the awkward interface between your ISP and the domain registration system. The next new product is SmartMember, which is our Members Area facility on a website. This incorporates password protection, which enables you to share some information in password protected pages of your website, which are only available to your choice of visitors. We handle all the technical details, so that the only special knowledge required by yourself is to know your customers/visitors and provide them with a unique username/password. The final new product from SmarterWays is SmartBuilder. This is our content management system, which allows you to create, update and manage the content of your website yourself, without IT intervention. It is a simple to use system, which supports highly functional websites, whilst enabling non-technical business users to control their own content.
