Please take a look at some of the website projects which we have undertaken:

Simple Technology (UK) Ltd

Simple Technology (UK) Ltd. is a well-established, leading distributor of competitively priced, high quality computer memory upgrade products, based in Warrington, Cheshire.

SmarterWays had implemented a redesign of the Simple Technology website in early 2006, but Martin Hignett, managing director, decided that he would like a further redesign to maintain the contemporary feel of the site, and also to go hand-in-hand with an eshot marketing campaign, and subsequently chose SmarterWays again to implement the redesign.

We provided a professional, high quality website which conveyed exactly the right image, incorporating the company colours and images connected to the business. We included our content management facility to allow the updating of a Latest Offers page and produced a site which immediately provoked positive feedback.

"When we needed to redesign our website we found that Smarterways listened to exactly what we wanted to do and worked closely with us all the way down the line, supplying us with exactly what we wanted promptly and professionally. I can’t speak highly enough of the professional job and the excellent web site and would have no hesitation in recommending Smarterways to anyone requiring web design. "

Footloose Theatre School

Footloose Theatre School was established at Sandymoor Community Centre, Runcorn, in 2004 and during their first three years enjoyed much success in community projects and shows at professional theatres, aswell as in the range of dance classes they provide.

By 2007, they had decided that they needed a website to both help attract more pupils to the already thriving dance and theatre school, and also to provide information to prospective and existing pupils, especially to their parents, by means of a password protected Members Area. We therefore designed a contemporary website for the Footloose Theatre School, incorporating the company colours, and developed a site which fulfilled all of the criteria of the principal of the school.

Essential Deliveries

Essential Deliveries, a specialist same day courier company based in Runcorn, Cheshire, was formed in 2004, and initially relied upon a website developed by one of the company directors. However, they approached SmarterWays in 2007, as they felt that the time had come for them to present a more professional image to the world, following the huge success of their first three years in business.

The SmarterWays team therefore designed a clear and informative site, incorporating their logo and company colours. We alsoimplemented our Search Engine Optimisation techniques, as it was also a major aim of Essential Deliveries to appear higher in the Search Engine rankings in order to increase business further.. Although this can sometimes be a slow process, Essential Deliveries noticed a very marked increase in traffic to their website within days of the new site being launched.

Spectrum-Coms

Spectrum-Coms, a top quality independent communications specialist, based in Yoxall, Staffordshire, approached SmarterWays with a request to implement some changes to their existing website.

Although happy with the overall look and feel of their website, there were several changes which were required. For example, their corporate colours had slightly changed, so we updated the colours and styles of the fonts used on the site. They wanted to expand their site to include two new sections, so we constructed these new pages and altered the navigation structure accordingly. And finally, they needed some simple text and image updates, so we implemented these at the same time. As is often the case, time pressures were paramount, as the Spectrum-Coms team were attending a conference at which one of their new sections was going to be highlighted, so we had to carry out this work within very tight timescales. However, we exceeded expectations by delivering early.

T24 Ltd

T24 screenshotT24 Ltd, a highly successful telecoms company based in Warrington, Cheshire, had previously tasked SmarterWays with carrying out some improvement and development work on their current website. However, they then decided that it was time for a redesign of the site, to create a simple, easy-to-use site, with more content, but one which also allowed for greater flexibility in the future.

We had several meetings with T24 Ltd, in order to ascertain exactly what it was that they were trying to achieve in the new site, and to ensure that we were able to incorporate their design ideas. The result is a clean, clear site, which provides an appropriate amount of information in an easy to navigate manner. Due to the fact that this site is used by several of T24 Ltd's customers, it includes a members log-in area, and also involved some detailed database work.

Maximum Maintenance

After completing two previous websites for this customer, SmarterWays was tasked with implementing a complete re-design on their Maximum Maintenance website.

The web presence which they already had for this company had some strength in its design, in that it was visually appealing, but unfortunately the design allowed for very little content, so was not working well for them. We therefore designed a site which was clean and clear, and which allowed for far more content to be shown. We also bore in mind the fact that they might want to add to it in the future. We included our content management facility to allow the updating of the News and Case Studies pages by the customer themselves.

"Working with SmarterWays on our third website has been fantastic. SmarterWays followed the brief given and even added their expertise to create a cost effective website that is both functional and informative. We look forward to working with them on our next project."

Adrian Cooper, Sales and Marketing Manager, Maximum Solutions

Roof Warehouse

SmarterWays has worked very closely with Roof Warehouse plc over the past few months on various aspects of marketing and corporate identity. We first provided a new logo for the organisation, which we then incorporated into new business stationery, which we also had printed. This work then led onto other related areas, such as signage quotations and ultimately a basic, 5-page web presence.

This portrays the correct professional corporate image for this rapidly expanding roofing material distribution company, providing basic information in a simple, clear and informative manner. Director Roger Hand was immediately pleased with the design and received many positive comments and compliments from the start. This site will soon be expanded to include more product and manufacturer details, roofing industry news, special offers, etc.

The Big Shop Window

The Big Shop Window is a new business, recently established in the Lancashire area, with the aim of providing an alternative to the large auction/selling sites which are currently available.

We at SmarterWays felt privileged to be chosen to design and develop this site for Vince and Pauline Purcell. They were looking for a professional, experienced web design company with integrity, as the website was obviously going to be fundamental to this new business.

We worked closely with them over a good period of time, fulfilling all the criteria which they had in mind and aiding them to develop their ideas further. Due to the nature of the business, this site incorporates various facilities, such as allowing customers to register and to place advertisements in various categories; pay for their advertisements; allowing businesses to advertise, etc. We produced a high-quality site, which immediately attracted advertising and should allow for great expansion within the business.

"Smarterways have provided us with a multifunctional web site that fits the criteria we submitted to them. They have looked into, and are continuing to monitor, every aspect required to produce a site that meets our needs.
Nothing has been too difficult for them to resolve - they have used their initiative and expertise to produce aspects of the site in words and graphics in addition to what we asked for and have made the site easy to access and browse. Smarterways have proved to be professional every step of the way in constructing TBSW web site - their integrity is without question and we look forward to a continued business relationship with them."

Vince and Pauline Purcell, The Big Shop Window

Learning Through Drama Theatre Company

The “Learning Through Drama” theatre company was established in 2005 by qualified school teacher, Helen Robinson. LTD offers four main services – bespoke drama days for schools, after school drama academies, holiday workshops and teacher training.

Being a new business, LTD needed a web presence which would become an effective marketing tool, providing an effective representation of the business, fulfilling the role of an online brochure. The main aim was to raise awareness of the services provided, locally and nationally, by ensuring that the website could be easily found and that its structure and content effectively showed the advantages and uniqueness of the services provided.

We worked very closely with LTD from the start, after having implemented our own research, to both advise on the structure and organisation of the site, and also to experiment with various “branding” ideas. We fulfilled all the aims of the brief, working creatively and flexibly to provide a bespoke website, also including our content management facility. The result was a bright, vibrant, highly informative website, of which LTD was very proud.

"A truly professional service that still manages to retain that personal touch. SmarterWays had an excellent grasp of my needs and a superb knowledge of how to present those on the site. I am delighted with the results - a clear, easy to navigate, exciting website. Thank you, SmarterWays."

Helen Robinson, Director, Learning Through Drama

Appleton Thorn School of Dance

Appleton Thorn School of Dance is a flourishing dance school based in the village of Appleton Thorn , near Warrington , but also providing classes at several other venues in the Warrington area.

Although the dance school had an existing website, the Principal had several motivations for wanting it changed and updated. Holding classes at various venues meant that ensuring everyone received the necessary information via letter was becoming increasingly difficult. She therefore took the decision that she would like the website to become her primary means of communication with parents, and one which she would be able to update independently.

SmarterWays was chosen to completely redesign the website, incorporating the school's colours used on new publicity material. Our solution to the “communication with parents” issue was to provide a bespoke easy-to-use Members Area facility on the website, incorporating password protection, which enables the Principal to share some information in password protected pages of the website. We obviously handled all the technical details, so that the only special knowledge required by the Principal is to know the children's and parents names, to enable her to easily accept or deny their registration in one click. In addition, we also included our Content Management facility, which allows her to update these pages easily herself.

The site, in particular the Members Area facility, was used immediately by parents, thus fulfilling the Principal's main aim. We also provided the basic website in time for the school's Christmas show, just two weeks after our initial meeting.

"Smarterways have been an incredibly helpful and efficient company. They have taken my suggestions on board, at the same time suggesting further refinements and additions that I would never have thought of. I am delighted with my new website."

Karen Speers, Principal, Appleton Thorn School of Dance

Able 2

Able 2 has a record of providing high-quality, cost-effective Occupational Therapy services to local authorities, housing associations, architects, individuals and residential homes. Based in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, Able 2 already had a very basic web presence. However, they took the decision to change and develop this as a result of the disability discrimination initiative, by which they were selected to take part in the St James' House/Parliamentary website project.

After meeting with the director of Able 2 to discuss the new structure and requirements of the website, SmarterWays produced a design which was immediately approved by the staff of Able 2, and then constructed the site, ensuring that all the requirements were incorporated and liaising with St James' House to ensure the smooth-running of the project. Able 2 chose to use the SmarterWays Content Management Portal, which allows them to control the content in certain parts of the site, and also opted to have a newsletter facility built into their site.

Able 2 chose SmarterWays to carry out this work because they immediately had confidence in the fact that we could provide the professional and effective design which they required. Due to the St James' House/Parliamentary website project, timescales were very tight for the launch of the new website, but Able 2 recognised that SmarterWays was capable of working within tight timescales whilst still producing a high quality website.

As a result of our website promotion strategies, along with the St James' House initiative, Able 2 saw a very significant increase in traffic to their site, where visitors find a clear, effective, professional website which gives an excellent first impression of the company.

“It was of great importance that the right design was created for our new site. SmarterWays produced a professional and effective design, liaised effectively with our staff along the way, and created a high quality product, with which we are very pleased, within a tight timescale.”

Madeleine Butler, Director, Able 2
