The Web Design Process
Step 1 - Visit and Web Design Plan
- We will visit your business, so that we can both get a "feel" for your organisation and discuss with you the look and feel that you require for your website. This will largely be a fact-finding visit, to discuss the size of site required, the possible facilities wanted, etc. You will be able to examine the possible layouts for your site, any preferred colour schemes, fonts, etc.
- As a result of this visit, we will produce a Web Design Plan, which will formalise what has been discussed, and will include a quote and order form.
Step 2 - Placing an Order
- It is at this stage that we will need a firm indication of the layout and look that you want for your site. This may be similar to a current printed brochure or website, or could simply be your choice from our range of layouts.
-
We will require the material to be shown on the site, including the words, pictures and graphics for each page. If you want us to source the pictures, then we will need your ideas for these.
-
We will need the name of the account for each e-mail account and, if you require an auto-response, we will need the text for this.
-
A deposit of 20% of the price quoted is required at this stage.
Step 3 - Web Design Stage
When we have received your order, we will begin working through the web design stage.
- After we have completed a draft page of the site, we will ask you to take a look and comment on the design. We will upload it to a password protected area on the Internet where only you have access.
- When you have approved the home page, we will complete the other pages of your website. We can e-mail you regularly to keep you informed of our progress, so that you can review the pages as we go along. The facility to provide feedback is available throughout the design stage, to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with your site.
- We will register your domain name and set up your e-mail accounts, and will send you details of these.
- When you have approved the finished website, we will require the balance payment.
Step 4 - Web Publication
When we receive the balance payment, we will:-
- Remove the password protection of your website.
- Start your first year of web and e-mail hosting.
- Promote your website to the search engines - it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months to be added to the main search engines.
- To ensure that you are completely happy with your website, we will make any changes that you need within the first 30 days without using up any of your web changes from your package.
Step 5 - Web Support
If you find any errors with your website, such as missing links or pages, e-mail us a description of the problem and we will fix it. We will send you a monthly e-mail with an executive summary of your web statistics.
